It’s not a garden wedding without a set of boules to play! Boules is an old time favourite game originating from France… it means “bowls” – so you can probably guess how the game is played 😉 . Best played in the afternoon sun with a glass of wine in hand!
How to play: Find a flat grassy area, and make some teams of 1, 2 or 3 players in each team. Place the cochonnet / jack (small brown ball) about 6-10 metres from the bowling line. A player from each team aims to throw a boule closer to the cochonnet than their opponents, or knock opponent’s boule out of the way. Whichever team gets closest, wins!
