The classic Sack Race is making a comeback. Children will love the goofyness of this race, and adults are guaranteed to re-live their childhood memories! There are numerous variations on sack race rules, however some suggestions are below.
Individual sack race
- Provide each participant with their own sack. The more people racing, the more fun it is!
- Each person puts both feet in the sack, and must keep at least one hand on the sack at all times.
- On the mark, participants begin hopping towards the finish line. The first racer to the finish line wins!
Relay Race:
- Get participants in teams of 2 or more. The more teams there are and the more people racing, the more fun it is!
- Each person puts both feet in the sack, and must keep at least one hand on the sack at all times.
- On the mark, participants begin hopping towards a marked point and back, tagging the next person in their team.
- Then, the next person gets into the sack and repeats the course.
- The first team to complete the course wins.
Three-Legged Race:
- Divide participants into teams of two. The more teams racing, the more fun it is!
- Participants in a team stand side by side and put the leg closest to each other in the hessian sack.
- Teams must race towards the finish line, the first team to finish wins.
